Custom products
Do you sell your digital and web related products online? I am myself selling some products online since 2003 and have made some really good profits from it. On the contrary it can be said I have made my whole fortune on it. I am selling web related turnkey products. The market was very tough even at that time when I got started. No sales for me. So I started reading the stuff and then soon I got newer ideas and it started rolling slowly at first and then into a perfect rhythm of sales. Right now even if I do nothing to market my products they are selling at normal speed. Thinking to boost it once more and up the tempo for one more time.

RE: Custom products
nick,
It sounds like you having a good time with your own products. What do you sell, exactly? Like, for example, what is one of the products?
People are always telling me that I should start marketing my own food and pet food. We have two golden retrievers here and, with all the bad press that petfood is receiving lately, I thought it would be better to talk to their veterinarian and make my own pet food for them.
Unfortunately, I don't know about the legalities of selling custom products, so I don't think I'll be selling my own food and pet food just yet.

Don't even get into it. There are many other products out there which you can sell. One of my friends lost his fortune and his house and shop were mortgaged and taken over by the bank in this pet food run.
This pets I don't know what they eat and from where they eat. But if something happens to the pet you are the one to get sued first of all.

Thank you for the advice, nick.
Your thoughts on the pet food industry are close to my thoughts on the pet food industry. I could easily see someone blaming my food for the reason that their pet got sick for whatever reason.
I may turn the business model from selling actual products to providing actual recipes for the foods. A disclaimer notice would be apt and ready!

RE: Custom products
I understand the concern, but how is selling pet food any different from selling food for people? Look how many people and companies sell food. If people get sick or die you have the same or worse problem.
If you have control over your source of food (local) or do testing, it should be ok. Consulting with a lawyer should provide you with the advice you need to protect yourself.
It may be that food ingrediant producers will have to test and certify that their products are safe, so that resellers like you will be protected.

RE: Custom products
I agree with you, nielsencl.
The custom product idea may be something to think about in the future when you have the time and resources to devote a little more capital into the business. You would be able to consult with a lawyer and other food resellers to find out the best way to market your product. It could end up being very productive and profitable if you combine it with an existing business.

RE: Custom products
You are too funny, Hanry!
I think that the custom product idea is a little too early for me, but thank you for the advice about how it may not be such a bad idea after all.
I think I am going to develop and wait until after I begin making a profit on pay-per-click and affiliates before I devise my own product. This is really good business advice! Thank you, everyone.
