How about this
How about no bulk appraisals rule?
Lets share some pros and cons on it.
I think people are just dumping their portfolios and writing "please appraise" in end.
Plus getting them to make new threads for each domain name would be a better idea. Also the rules are in the place for the domain name registration date, expiry, where registered, developed or not etc. So people can appraise it more easily. The asking party is assuming that others will do the research and make an appraisal. Is it fair for the person who is appraising the domain name for free to go and see how many links are there when was it registered etc.

RE: How about this
yes i m agree with u.
if there is only one domain than people can give more specific and detailed appraisal.
some time what happen people are interested to give reply but if there are more than one domain for appraisal people refused to give reply due to time.
my vote is no bulk appraisal..
thanks

RE: How about this
Yes right now also there are some threads asking for bulk appraisals.
My issue was that we don't want to just harass the users but just asking for appraisal for 4 or 5 domains at one time discourages the users who are even willing to appraise the domain names.
If this continues then we will soon have to add one paid appraisal team

RE: How about this
I've been thinking about this for some time now, here are my thoughts:
On the one hand, it's a bit spammy to post lots of names.
On the other hand, I'd rather have all their names they want appraised in one thread that have 5 threads created, which is MORE spammy?
Plus, everyone is free to review as many of the domains as they want.
Only want to review one? fine, only review one....
I also notice that some other larger forums do not bother with this restriction, the noobs asking for appraisals on all their junk are just ignored....
So, to sum up:
I don't think it's worth the effort to enforce, and I don't think having lots and lots of one domain review request thread is better, IMHO!

RE: How about this
I dont know where the idea of appraisals being "spammy" comes from...?
I think bulk appraisals are fine, but who is going to look up all the names and make an estimate for free? I would just go down the list and make a quick estimate of the value. What else can they expect for free? Having posts with large lists of domain names should bring the forums more traffic due to the increased content. Check the stats for any lists of domains that we have now.
The those that post say, less than 5 can get a nice apprasal from those that want to provide them.

RE: How about this
Humm.... yes all the points are really spinning my head.
Please let me know if this is right or not.
"We will allow as many domains as someone wants in one thread"
"Someone can appraise 1 or all domains as per his wish"
"Even foolish appraisals will do. Because if someone is posting bulk domains and a newbie is appraising it then he will just write $xx $xxx $xxxx without giving it a second thought." - But as nielsencl said what they can expect for free
Let this one roll a bit and then I will enforce paid threads in the appraisal section so some people who are giving good appraisals can be sent the money in their paypal accounts for the efforts they are putting for it.
For a $1 they can get an appraisal. Plus the person can select the best appraisal he got and did satisfied him in the end. The amount can be sent to the person who was chosen the best. After deducting the amount for the Nameslot fund. Which can be used for paying our staff and doing some other things for the forum itself.

RE: How about this
Yes, if they are posting domains for sale in more than one thread then one of the moderators should be notified. I have deleted a couple that I found. I also don't like seeing posts "bumped" here.

RE: How about this
Yes that's 100% true. I am scanning the new posts mostly for the unusual bumps. But nowadays posters are getting more smarter and are trying new and better ways to bump their posts with adding some more info. or replying something that was not asked for. etc. Its all hazy right now I am getting a handbook type of thing for the basics. Lets see what is written in it.
