How to Check Backlinks
Hi
1. Go to Yahoo’s or Google’s homepage and copy and paste the link you are searching for. The search will yield the original site and linked sites in the search results. Even though this search is the easiest to perform it will not show all of the websites linking to your site or articles.
2 Go to the main page of Yahoo and type “link:” followed by your domain name. Leave no spaces between the colon and the domain name. This will bring you to Yahoo Site Explorer, which will show you all the “Inlinks” or backlinks to your website or article.
3 Go to the Google homepage and type “link:” hit the spacebar, copy and paste your domain name. You must include a space between the colon and URL otherwise the search will not yield any results. This will bring up a listing of the original site and any sites that include backlinks to the original site.
4 Go to Google Webmaster Central click the Resource link below. Create an account or log in using your Google email account. Add your URL after you log in, and Google Webmaster will retrieve your “Links Data” or backlink information. However, you will have to wait for the results because Google goes through a verification process to confirm ownership of the site.
Keep sharing informative information.
Thanks

RE: How to Check Backlinks
There is a number of free tools available on the net.
Nevertheless, I don’t think any of them can give you a definite 100% list of the amount of links that you have online pointing back to your site.
That being said, some are definitely better than others...

RE: How to Check Backlinks
I actually use yahoo and the link: operator to find where my competitors are lining to. That way I can find where I can place back links. The larger businesses tend to have lots of links that they paid for but the smaller companies tend to be doing exactly what you are doing for your site and finding sites to build links on. It's a good way to find sites like blogs, directories and forums to link on.
