What makes your directory special

What make your directory more special then the others?

Does it has custom mods?
A custom layout?
And pricing techniques that we don't know about?

Please list your directory and its special features.

If you rank at good position for your keyword then don't forget to show off a bit.

RE: What makes your directory special

I made 2 directories recently.

It had unique colors But I know bots will not know that.

A modified category structure. SEO friendly.

Thinking to put in articles mod along with the listings.

RE: What makes your directory special

My directory, Consultant-Directory.com uses an old free template and default colors. It is also slow to load and does not have SE-friendly URLs.

What is more unique is that it has over 10,000 mostly hand-edited listings, and we do not charge for submissions (That's why we have so many listings :-) ). And we don't ask for people's email address when they submit. We make money from Adsense and more money from paid links.

Oh, the topic of the site is "Consulting" and we reject 8 out of every 10 submissions because they don't have anything to do with consulting. My advice to anyone starting a directory is to have one on a specific topic if you want to stand out from the crowd. We started a new one at pcb-directory.com, but it is going much slower because of such a narrow topic. Still, once it is established it should do very well.

Keep them coming friends. I think the options right now are too low.

I also know that many people out there have directories that are unique and has something special about it.

RE: What makes your directory special

I started up my directory at www.rankpod.com a couple of days ago.

What's special? Well, this has probably been done many times before, but I'm only going to put links to sites that I think are good. No submissions, not even paid (not that anyone would really want me to link to them from my 3 day old PR0 directory! - I haven't even finished skinning it yet!)

I have done a couple of custom mods though.

In the free version of phpLD, I couldn't see a way to go directly to editing a link, without first finding it in the pages and pages of links, so I made a form that you can type the link ID in, and it will take you to editing the link.
Then on the front end, I display the link ID.

If I can be bothered, I will modify it so that when you are logged in as admin, you can just click on a link in the font end to edit it.

One thing which might be special is that I have no empty categories, I will just add them when I need them (when I have links for them)
