dotster reseller program
I did checked it out and it says that there are no upfront fees and nothing to deposit in our accounts. It is 100% private label domain reseller program what we can run on our site with the help of API's. I just didn't liked the inner workings the control panel was cool enough but the demo site that was ready needed lots and lots of works. Thinking if I will be able to get that much time and make it running or not. Anyone who has previous experiences with them can share their ideas on it. Comments are highly appreciated.

RE: dotster reseller program
Here is a link to Dotster.
What does it do, exactly? Is it a domain marketing network like Godaddy?

RE: dotster reseller program
I checked it out too, it appears to only be open to US residents:
Part 2: Certification
Under penalties of perjury, I certify that:
1. The number shown on this form is my correct taxpayer identification number, and
2. I am not subject to backup withholding because: (a) I am exempt from backup withholding, or (b) I have not been notified by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) that I am subject to backup withholding as a result of a failure to report all interest or dividends, or © the IRS has notified me that I am no longer subject to backup withholding, and
3. I am a U.S. person (including a U.S. resident alien).

RE: dotster reseller program
I think it's a domain reseller program. I have been looking for one for a long time.
Nick, have you looked at Reseller club? I thought it looked very good but have not had the time to do more research.

LOL now that solves all the troubles about dotster domain reseller.
There should have been a Dotster reseller program which would allow NON U.S. residents in it.

RE: dotster reseller program

Checked that one out too, everything seems great, until you get to the point where you have to load your account.
I may have read it wrong but it seems to me that you buy a block of registration credit e.g. $200 and then when your customers reg a domain, their money goes to you, and the wholesale cost of the reg comes out of your preloaded credit.
You then get discounts the bigger blocks of credit you buy at a time.
I think the only way you could get really competitive prices (less than $10) was to buy really big blocks of credit.
For me, that kills it because of the continued initial outlay.
(The more successful you are, the more capital you will have to have sitting in registration credit)
I know everyone puts them down, but I'm currently thinking about the godaddy reseller package. $100 up front, but then you can sell domains for about $6.95 (maybe less) if you want.

Definitely, they would get a lot of resellers very quickly.
I am guessing that the problem is all the paper work the IRS would make them fill out. As they are currently giving away the reseller program away for free, they could end up with thousands of junk resellers making them no profit, but still have to support them / do all the accounting e.t.c

RE: dotster reseller program
I did checked enom API and directi engine. Both looked promising.
On the other hand as RCriver suggested GoDaddy's reseller program looks nice. As there is no deposits and you only have $100 or so to lose even if it doesn't works. Which for most of the domainers is a discount for themselves if they renew and register new domains in their own reseller account.

RE: dotster reseller program
I have heard that you can't push, but you can still transfer. And I think you can also just change the ownership information also. BUT in Godaddy you cannot transver a domain for 60 days if you change the registrant information...!
I almost signed up for a GD reseller, in fact I did and then canceled it right away and got my money back. I just can't see paying money to a company just so I can make money for them. I suppost if you buy a lot of domains the discount could be worth it, but when you can already buy them for $7 (Domainsite.com) or less, I don't think so.
