i have just made a post for earning more from adsense. but as my adsense is dropping very low i have also started using affiliates on some of my sites. affiliate banners and links have proved to be more bad then the adsense. i am not earning a single cent in 3 months. if someone who has the knowledge of affiliate marketing can give me some guidance then it will be very kind of them. please just give me some outlines and i will work on them. thanking you in advance.

Choose good banners that blend in your site.

Choose good products that are related to your sites.

For example putting a domain parking or a domain registration banner here on our forum can be good. While putting the stuffed toys and gift baskets ads here on our forum would not lead to much sales as the forum itself is for domain name buying and selling.

Make email lists.

Give some things for free on the site that already has the affiliate products.

Lure them to signup for the newsletters.

Set an auto-email program that can welcome them and send them some offer to start off with.

Send periodic emails to your subscribers and keep them happy. Don't just send them product catalogues. Provide good tips and tricks in your emails.

If you are marketing gardening tools then write good articles about great gardening. And then add this products in that email.

Last but not least. Never SPAM someone.

Please let us know what kind of traffic you are getting to your site. If you are not getting much traffic, or poor quality traffic, that may be what you need to work on.

I have not been a good affiliate marketer either, but in my opinion what you need to do is really try focus on one or a small number of affiliate programs. Don't have 20 different offers because most people will just leave. I think the best affiliate sites have a lot of content on what the topic is and then when people are ready to buy or leave your site they do so via the affiliate links.

I think that "Related to your site" is overrated. Blend your affiliate information with other information so that it doesn't just look like you are pitching product. Choose additional products that would be of interest to the type of person that your site is geared toward, the products should all relate to one type of person, not nessesarally relate to each other.

back again. nothing is happening. not even a single click on the banners. if no one is clicking the banners then there is no chance that they will buy any products so i am not getting any commisions.

Build up your email list by providing some free things to your visitors and send them some good newsletters and along with it send the offers which might interest them and ultimately lead into a sale from your side.

Sometimes, you can utilize forums to produce a mailing list. Forums will likely have a larger userbase than an external mailing list, so if your site has some forums, make an announcement and send a letter about it!
