Three way link exchange is very effective way now a days because with this ways you can get quality one way links for your site.

Suppose your have 2 sites with name of first.com and second.com and your are giving link to any third person site third.com from first.com but third.com will give you link for second.com.

And by this way second.com has a unique and quality backlinks and as we know also that one way link is very effective than reciprocal.

I guess three way link building could work because you need all the backlinks that you could get to help improve Site PR. However, don't just focus on this method alone. You should always try to mix it up with other techniques.
