It’s about time. Google is recommending the following configurations – sites that dynamically serve all devices on the same set of URLs, and sites that use responsive Web design.

This is a perfect example of what could emerge from the recent changes to Google Shopping. How long before they start charging for other things such as Google Maps?

I can’t speak for everyone, but I think a significant majority of merchants would agree that this is only going to hurt them and will be an impetus for moving to other search engines.

Hard to say, but the Google model has always relied on some free service (this is the heart of their business model really). By monetizing this aspect of the web, I think the organic searches will suffer a bit.

Difficult question to answer as they target different things. Penguin focuses on over optimization while Panda is more concerned with originality and relevance. Sometimes the two can cross over though.

The latest update targets many things including over optimization and aggressive webspam, so make sure to do an audit of your links if you haven’t already.

Google recently tweeted that they did a Pandora refresh in June which will impact about 1% of total searches worldwide (not an insignificant number).

According to Matt Cutts, the latest update will really only impact less than .1% (of English searches that is). It has been confirmed that Google has rolled out Panda 3.7.

The latest panda and penguin updates continues to punish sites, and Google continues to add minor tweaks to the algorithm to smoke out the spammers.
