It still depends for me. Are you guys posting link on the same page and same links? What i know is that is now allowed, it will be double post. 1 link for 5 pr is more better than 5 link in only 1 pr. And even its to spammy, it  can still bring your website to the top. 

Doing SEO to your site is not being a popular. Most important is your doing the job that makes visitor's visit your site everyday.. So far Blog Commenting is the best SEO Link Building i know and effective. A little bit help of SEO Software/tools.

Best way for link bulding is blog commenting, some forum posting and article submission i think. But be sure no spam so you can drive traffic more better.
