I'm planning to go primitive camping as much as possible this summer, but I've never really gone to an area that required me to hike more than 6 miles to my site. So if a canteen wasn't enough, I would carry a bucket of water. But I want to go further, and I'm not sure what to do about the water supply. I have treatment tablets, but the only water I really have access to down here is swamp/marsh water (I live in Florida). The tablets treat 2 liters. Are the tablets going to be a sufficient method for getting water? Are they really safe for daily use or are those intended for emergencies? What other method should I use, if there is one?
