Every week, I scour the web to find inspiring outfits on your favorite celebs and help you recreate their looks! This week, I was inspired by Taylor Swift, Joy Bryant, and Stephanie Pratt. Read on to see how you can get their looks for yourself.
Look 1: Taylor Swift’s Chic Springtime Ensemble
Taylor Swift in February 2011
Taylor Swift touched down at LAX airport this week in a Parisian-chic outfit consisting of a red high-waisted skirt, a black and white striped boatneck top, nude peep-toe flats with kitten heels, and a brown leather shoulder bag. Taylor’s look is very minimal — not heavily accessorized whatsoever — which goes to show you how a strong color palette and simple pattern choices can create a bold look on their own.

Skirt, Top, Shoes, Bag
Start with a striped shirt in a classic shape like Taylor’s, with 3/4 sleeves and a boatneck neckline, which is chic and flattering. A red high-waitsted pleated skirt is the perfect contrast to the top, adding a bold pop of color and fun movement to the look. Neutral colored flats (these have bow-detailing and a small heel similar to Taylor’s shoes) keep the rest of the look simple and flirty, and a small leather shoulder bag doesn’t overwhelm the look either, keeping it fresh.
Look 2: Joy Bryant’s Embellished Darks

Joy Bryant, photographed at an event in Beverly Hills this week, layered her look to perfection, incorporating several dark pieces to create a trendy ensemble. She wore a sequin mini skirt over black opaque tights, a loose-fitting gray t-shirt, a black leather jacket, black ankle boots, a blue/gray scarf, a fringed brown cross-body bag, and finished it all off with some striking red lips.
I love how Joy made the embellished skirt, which is typically a fancy piece, more casual by wearing it with a simple t-shirt and leather jacket. By dressing it down, she makes a sequined skirt look appropriate for all sorts of locations and events.

To get Joy’s look, start with a sequined or embellished mini skirt – it adds sparkle to your look, and is a unique contrast to the bohemian vibe of the fringe cross-body bag. A dark gray loose tee on top makes the skirt more casual, as do a leather bomber jacket and a gray-hued scarf. Black tights and black ankle boots stay in the color family of the overall outfit, while red lips (or a bold makeup look) is a fun way to add a pop of color.
Look 3: Stephanie Pratt’s Dress & Blazer Combo

Stephanie Pratt, one of the controversial characters from The Hills, was spotted around town this week in a sweet minidress with a ruffled neckline and a gray blazer, worn with a blue quilted handbag and nude wedge sandals. As we have seen in other celeb inspirations, a blazer is a great way to transition an outfit from a professional setting to a relaxed setting — the dress underneath works in both (albeit with perhaps a longer hemline for work).

Dress, Blazer, Bag, Shoes
This frock from Forever 21 is strikingly similar to Stephanie’s, and has elastic at the waist so that you do not need to add your own belt (like Stephanie did). A gray blazer is the perfect complement to the color and shape of the dress — don’t forget to roll up the sleeves for extra style! A blue quilted bag gives off a muted pop of color, while nude wedge sandals give you a lift up and elongate your legs.
