Every week, I scour the web to find inspiring outfits on your favorite celebs and help you recreate their looks! This week, I was inspired by Whitney Port, Jessica Alba, and socialite Poppy Delevigne. Read on to see how you can get their looks for yourself.
Look 1: Whitney Port’s Colorful Creation

Whitney Port looked lovely (and leggy!) on her way to a television interview this week in Los Angeles. She wore a body-conscious red mini skirt, pairing it with an unlikely top: a navy blouse with white polka dots. But that’s Whitney! She is always mixing in interesting patterns and colors into her ensembles for a quirky twist. She also wore some beige wedge ankle booties, giving her an extra leg up.

Skirt, Blouse, Shoes, Clutch
Urban Outfitters sells a navy polka dot blouse strikingly similar to Whitney’s; it would also look great with some jeans and wedge sandals. For this look, though, pair it with a tight-fitting bright red skirt to really make a statement. Beige ankle boots with a wedge heel are a neutral base, and a snakeskin clutch in beige creates an interesting contrast with the polka dots — in the last few months, pattern mixing has been a big trend, and this outfit helps you nail the look.
Look 2: Jessica Alba’s Cold-Weather Florals

Over the past week, Jessica Alba has been out and about in Paris for Paris Fashion Week — jealous! And of course, she’s been wearing some fabulous ensembles like this one: a flowy floral skirt worn with tights, a blazer with tuxedo details, structured lace-up booties, an oversize gray scarf, and black Ray-Bans. This outfit is a perfect prelude to the spring – incorporating florals with black and warm materials is an excellent way to fend off the chilly temperatures while still looking spring-y. The skirt is the absolute focal point of the look, while the booties and Wayfarer sunglasses are trendy extras.

Skirt, Blazer, Scarf, Sunglasses, Tights, Shoes
To recreate Jessica’s look, a floral skirt in a chiffon-like material is ideal; the one I chose, which is almost identical to Jessica’s, is a bit surprising, because it’s actually a pair of shorts. Cool, right? A black t-shirt or blouse (tucked into the shorts/skirt) is a base for the blazer — it doesn’t matter whether you rock a boyfriend blazer, or one with tuxedo accents, like this one, from Gap – go with what you have! To accessorize, add a gray scarf, black Wayfarer sunglasses, and statement-making lace-up booties.
Look 3: Poppy Delevigne’s Rocker Twist on Girly

Poppy Delevigne, a jet-setting socialite/model/actress was also in Paris this week for Fashion Week, specifically front-row at Chanel. She wore a fabulous multicolor-printed frock with a cheekily see-through bottom, and casually threw a leather motorcycle jacket on top, along with perfectly-tousled hair and bright pink lipstick — perfect touches to create a glam rocker edge. She also wore some chunky ankle boots with straps, and completed her look with – what else? – a classic quilted Chanel shoulder bag!

Dress, Jacket, Booties, Bag, Lipstick
While Poppy’s dress is gorgeous, it seems to me that it may be a bit out of reach for the typical college girl (and her wallet). Forever 21, though, makes this dress, which has a print that’s very similar to Poppy’s, and is just a bit more casual than hers (good news, however – you could wear it for day or night). It also features a high neckline, waist-emphasizing shape, and a slightly longer hemline.
On top, a motorcycle jacket will give the look an edge, and complement the black in the dress’ pattern. A leather jacket in this kind of shape is a great investment and can be worn so many ways — I think most weeks, this column features looks which usually call for a leather jacket of the sort! Chunky ankle boots and a quilted shoulder bag, along with some show-stopping pink lipstick, finish the look.
