Google Supplement result

Hi,

Some times one of my site show a lot of supplemental results (arround 1000) from other sites when i type "www.mysite.com" in google.However sometime it show only 50-55 links with no supplemental results.Even it happens in hours of single day also.

Now what to do?? Is it harmful??

You may have heard recently that Google is getting tough on duplicate content. If they see pages with almost identical content, they'll show the most relevant result and list the other pages as "supplemental results". If your page is in the "supplemental results" bin, you're probably not going to get any traffic. I think it's technically called a "second index", but basically, it's the trashcan for webpages. Google has visited your page and decided it's not important enough for their main index.
