How To Get More and More Unique Traffic?

We all knows directory submission, article submission and bookmarking are the basic step of boost you website. When you done these simple step you get some traffics for your site.

But some site have 4000 to 5000 or more then 5000, unique traffic per day. But how they achieve this level I don't know. So if you some extra unique ideas then please share with us.

I have two sites that get the most traffic out of my 1,600 domain, blogs and sites. The best site is getting about 4,000 uniqes a day. Both of these sites are very different, but they have these things in common:

- Both are optimized fairly well.
- Both have a LOT of content.
- Both are 4-5 years old.
- Both were submitted to a lot of directories and search engines.
- Both have a lot of links over time, but I'm not sure how many.
- Both have reasons for people to find them and return again later.

One is a directory that has about 10k listings and the other has about 25 million expired domain names.

I think the main thing is to have a LOT of content and keep adding on a regular basis. Much of the content should be unique, or the "collection" of content should be unique even if some of it appears on other sites.

After getting content I think SEO and Submissions are all you really need to worry about, but there are other things that can help.
