If we used url shortner, there is any dis-advantages?

Most of the forums signatures is restricted the character counting should be 100 or 150.
i am going to target inner page url in forum. so the url length should be littel much lengthy. so i can use url shortener for creating signatures in forums..

if i used shorten url for signature there is any disadvantages is there pls give you suggestions..

Dear,
Tiny urls are meaningless and dont compell anyone to click on it for the most part. On Twitter there is no link text and context so you just see the link. The assumption on Twitter is that the accompanying text provides the context.

Well what I think is that URL shortener are always helpful when you need to place add/affiliate links on your website so that no one can recognize it that it is a selling link, because it will disappear the deep link.
