Programming Help - Script to create email forwards

I need some help from a programmer to find or build a script that will allow me to enter in a form and create email forwards like you can do in cPanel.

I also need some other functions, but if you can do that then the rest should be easy.

Contact me if interested and what your rates are.

Like we do in cpanel is to do something with email functions of the server itself.

And on the other hand I have another idea.

That we create a database. Store the original email address and the new address where the emails needs to be forwarded.

Now when the email is recieved on the original email address the script can lookup in database and send one copy to the email address where it needs to be forwarded. Or it can also run on cron to que up the emails lets say 100 or so per minute.

That is a good approach, but the problem is that the emails will be sent to the new forwarding addresses, not to an address that could be accessed by the script and then forwarded.

Ok, ok, I guess that it could use a "catch all" mailbox so that it would get everything. Your idea would also cause all spam to be dropped.

And there are also many other benefits to your approach that I see. For a simple application I would like the cPanel idea, but for an expanded application I like the database concept...! :-)

:) LOL I love myself.

Yes with that approach that I suggested the SPAM block will come into effect. Plus some fancy stats can also be produced with the data that could be collected, like how many emails, the peak hours of emails. etc etc.

People love data when it is in charts and diagrams :)

So what are your rates for working on such a project such as this?

We have to keep in mind that are last effort at working together was not quite as smooth as we would have liked (By the way, no domain, script, or site was ever sold. At least not by me...).

:-)

I would have loved to do programming again. But as usual I am having my depression periods. And for me it is very very frustrating.

I have taken one scripting job from last 2 months. It is not that I don't know how it will work. But the thing is I am not able to type in the code. It happens to me every now and then after some months.

Don't know if this happens to me only. But I haven't asked other programmers.

I know this has happened to me many times in past also. But as soon as I come out of this I am coding like a robot. It is just some other factors that are frustrating me right now.

I think I understand. When I was doing more programming there would be times when I could not do much. I think it happens more to those that are self-taught and tend to be less organized. We treat it like a creative process rather than just an intelectual one, and you cannot force the creative easily. It needs to be tricked like with drugs, listening to music, soaking in a hot bath, or you just wait until it returns. :-)

Yes I have had enough tobacco and have heard nice smooth music for nights. Exactly that is the same scenario and yes you are right I am not organized :(

I think I need a vacation of 10 days as I haven't taken one since last 4 years.
