Hello,
i had one domain which expired before 5 days and i did not renew it. and when i check whois info it still shows my name and expired date is changed to 15/8/2008 i m socked as i did not renew that domain.
my registrar is namecheap and i have confirm that with my account to. there is not auto renewal option on.

i have seen this first time.

thanks

Your information will remain in the WHOIS until the domain is finally dropped, I think. I would expect it to be there for at least the first 30 days after the domain expires, since you can still get it back during that time.

And I have seen some expired domains display a new expiration date that is about a year in the future. I think some registrars are doing that on purpose with expired domains. If there is a parking page that shows up when you go to the domain, I would say they are trying to make some money off your old traffic during this time before the domain is dropped. :-)
