Script choosing dilemma

I am in a dilemma of which script should I choose. I have registered one of the best domain name for me personally. And it is my own name in the .com version.

I want to make a blog kind of thing in it and I can say that wordpress rocks. I am thinking to make it so premium that I don't even want to use the free script of wordpress and give out a sitewide link to wordpress. I just cannot accept it that I am using the same script that millions of others are also using. I am a programmer and I can sleep one hour late for a week and I will have my own system.

What should I do. Are there any pros and cons in this?

Well, I understand how you feel, but will anyone but you care or even notice if you write your own blog software?

If you have the time and interest to write it, then why not?

If you do it well and and figure out some aspect that is different, you could even sell it, or give it away to get links from millions of sites.

If I was going to write it or any software, I would give it away, but I would build in an advertising system that would get updated information from my main site, and display small ads or text links that would change from time to time as I wanted them to. In this way I could sell ads or just get links to different sites that I owned.
