I am trying to improve my website's ranking on local business center, and I found some very interesting phenomenon.
If I search with keyword
"Translations [myCityName] or
Translation Services [myCityName]"
My company website will show up as ranked #1 from the local business search result.
However if I search with keywords with the "s" removed:
"Translation [myCityName] or
Translation Service [myCityName]"
Then our website rank drops off the first page of local search result.
Firstly I though it is due to the keyword without "s" has high competition. However then I notice the websites ranked before us are either from other near by cities, hence not as relevant in terms of location, or from the same city but ranked below us with the first set of keywords.
(Our website is considered the best among local competitors. Saying so could be subjective, but most local competitors' websites are very very old and lack of information.)
So can anyone suggest the reasoning behind, and if I there is anything I can improve?
My description section is filled with keywords regarding services we offer and locations.
