The first step in buying and selling domain is to own a domain name, which you can choose wisely by reading the previous chapters.

Lets assume you have got yourself one directory domain name or a 4 letter .com domain name.

You can sell it off within one week for $20 to $50 dollars to some other domain buyer. As that is the trend that is going on right now in the market. If you have got a gem of a domain name for yourself. Then sit on it for a while let it bloom and then sell it off for a bigger share in the pie.

Some domain related forums will get you started right on with it.

Are some of the best forums out there which allows a visitor to get registered and become a member of the community. I would advice you to take a look around. See what others are doing. How they sell their domain names. I cannot write the rules that needs to be followed in here as they might change from time to time and different domain forums might have different set of rules for buying and selling of domain names.

Some other great places to get the expired domain names, which are carelessly not being renewed by their previous owners, is to get them from the domain name aftermarket.

Below are some of the good ones:

They are some of the best places to get some expired domain names, which are getting deleted from the records. The aftermarket gives you the first shot at the expiring domain names before they are made available and are free to register for anyone.

There is a normal fees for getting in to the aftermarket and if the domain name is a premium one. EX: a 3 letter .com domain name then you can imagine that there will be more then one party interested in it.

Here the bidding process starts and the highest bidder at the end of the auction time gets the domain name by paying the amount of the bid he or she has made during the bidding process.

Just choose wisely here don’t throw in your money otherwise you will curse me if you lose some of your money on some useless domain names. Also watch out for the trademark issues.

Getting a domain name from some other domain seller for a good price and then selling it off for some profits can also add up to your total. Remember that small drops make the oceans. We will cover the domain name brokerage and other things later on in the book as we continue.

If you see a clear flag like a good 4 letter or a dictionary domain name for sale in lower prices then you can surely grab some of them as an investment.

Thanks for this excellent information.
