diffrence between html and xml

HTML is stand for markup language and other side XML is a stand for Extensible Markup language. HTML is a presentation language when XML is not presentation language. HTML is not case sensitive and XML is case sensitive language.

XML is not a replacement for HTML.
XML and HTML were designed with different goals:

XML was designed to describe data and to focus on what data is.
HTML was designed to display data and to focus on how data looks.

HTML is about displaying information, XML is about describing information.

HTML is a language like XML presentaton, where this is not a programming language or the language of submission. It is used to transfer data between applications and databases. XML describes data as HTML, which only defines the data. The XML must close each tag as in HTML is not required.

HTML:-
HTML stands for Hyper Text Markup Language
HTML is not a programming language, it is a markup language
A markup language is a set of markup tags
The purpose of the tags are to describe page content
XML:-
XML stands for EXtensible Markup Language
XML is a markup language much like HTML
XML was designed to carry data, not to display data
XML tags are not predefined. You must define your own tags
XML is designed to be self-descriptive

XML was developed to describe details and to pay attention to what details is. HTML was developed to display details and to pay attention to how details looks .

HTML is about displaying details, while XML is about describing details.

HTML:-
Hyper Text Markup Language
Use only Predefined Tags
Not Case Sensitive Example : HTML as start tag and html as end tag are accepted.
For displaying data (presentation language)
Static (Content is not changed every time page is reloaded)
Every tag need not having an end tag.

XML:-
Extensible Markup Language
Users must create their own tags
Case Sensitive Example: BOOKS as start tag and Books as end tag are not accepted
For describing data
Dynamic (Content is changed every time page is reloaded)
Every tag must have an end tag.

XML is great at describing the data you are handling. HTML is better at describing the structure of the data you are displaying. XML describes data while HTML describes how the data should be displayed. So HTML is about displaying information while XML is about describing information.

The full form of HTML is hypertext markup language,HTML was designed to display how your data look means it shows the data. and full form XML is EXtensible Markup Language,XML was designed to carry and store the data.

XML and HTML, both have different objectives. They are designed for different purposes. Some people think that the xml version of html was to replace html. Is not the case. There will be because it uses for different purposes.

The regular ness rules of XML remove some of ambiguity inherent in processing markup languages like HTML by enforcing rules such as mandating that all attribute values must be in quotes.

The things called as XML and HTML, individually have not the same objects. A number of people think that the xml form of html was to substitute html.

The objectives of HTML and XML are different. Some people think that XML was created to replace HTML. But in reality, it is not so, as they have different purposes.

HTML and XML are created to serve different objectives. Some people have a wrong idea that XML is a version of HTML and the purpose of creation of XML was to substitute HTML. But the fact is they are used for totally different purposes.

XML is great at describing the data you are handling. HTML is better at describing the structure of the data you are displaying. Originally for HyperText, that is, linking between documents. Extended Markup (XML) expands on that by allowing far more flexibility in describing document content. HTML is more rigid than XML, restricting itself to a defined set of elements while, in XML, you can define whatever you want. XML has its own programming language, XSLT, that can transform any XML into any other XML, including HTML.

Web developers may notice some difference between HTML and XML, which is due to the fact that they are both derived from XML document is provided or displayed, enables document authors to focus on creating documents that contain only relevant semantic information for their particular problem domain. This is a gentle introduction to XML and using XML with Java. We see what makes XML tick and the advantages of XML.

The main purpose of HTML and XML is really very different. Some people think that the XML can replace HTML. But it is not that. Both of them have specific reasons for usage.

HTML is a presentation language.
XML is neither a programming language nor a presentation language.
HTML is case insensitive
XML is case sensitive
