This is again a very thin line here.
Cybersquatters are people who register trademarked names. For example, if someone registers domain name which is a trademark of some company and then demands the money to hand over the domain name to that company then this can be called cybersquatting. According to the United States federal law known as the Anti-Cybersquatting Consumer Protection Act, is to register or use the domain name with bad-faith intent to profit from the goodwill of the trademark name of the company owning the trademark. Generally cybersquatters offer the domain back to the company with inflated prices.
Cybersquatting is against the law. You should never ever get involved in the cybersquatting. This book doesn’t teaches the way to grab the trademark names and register them. I am firmly against the cybersquatting and its other techniques.
It is far better to do some of the research. Read all the information provided here on the ICANN’s website. http://www.icann.org/udrp/udrp.htm
One another breed of people out there are the domain name investors. There are huge corporations and companies investing in domain names. They normally go for generic domain names, which are used in day-to-day life and are not trademarked by any company. As this are the domain names which gets the type in traffic. Registering a good domain name, using it for your profit and to earn the living on it is not illegal. Many people have made millions with buying and selling the domain names. This is their profession. I have myself made more then $20,000 USD’s in less then a year with buying and selling the domain names. To be a good domainer and to earn more profits you might need to know the basics of choosing the right domain name for these purposes.
