Godaddy rejected the transfer of a domain to my main account at Namecheap.com which I bought because it was less than 60days after I had it pushed into my account.
I don't like Godaddy much, although there is nothing wrong with their service.
So I was going to wait until the last minute and renew the domain, but there was only 2 days from when I could submit the transfer and when it expired so I didn't think I had enough time.
So I decided to just renew it, and then I remembered that I had heard that you can sometimes find coupons or discount codes for Godaddy. I wasn't sure if they would work for a renewal, but I decided to search using:
godaddy coupon renewal
And I found lots of listings. The first code I tried did not work, but the second one did!
I was going to have to pay $8.95 + $0.25 (GD sucks sometimes) or $9.20, but with the code I found (HASH3) on one of the forums it only cost $7.20. They say it only works on .com domains, but other codes might be out there.
I also saw a blog post that said if your domain expires, you have 30 days to renew it before you lose it. If you can affort to have your domain off-line for a week or two, GD will start offering you discount to renew it again....
