My name is Lucas, and I work with NameDrive, a parking and brokerage company. I just started an account to make it really easy to hear any questions or concerns people have about ND. Also, as I work in the industry I might be able to answer some general parking or brokerage questions that people have. Anyway, I look forward to getting to know everyone. Don't hesitate to give me a holler!

Cheers,
Lucas

Hi Lucas,

Welcome to the Forums!

I'm impressed that a company rep would take the time to become a member, but I do think it is a good marketing method.

I saw your comment about TrafficZ and appreciate that you were professional enough to not put them down.

Thanks,
Chris

Hello and welcome to Nameslot.com

We are very glad that you dropped by. It certainly will help many members here to know and understand the parking things and more about the parking company you are representing.

I would also like to mention that you will find our forum the most friendliest one.

Thanks a lot.

Hi Lucas,

Welcome to Nameslot. It's good for our forum members you are here. Lots of people don't know much about domain parking so they can learn lots of things from you.

Thanks to spare your time on Nameslot.com

hello Lucas. Its really good to see a representative of parking company here...

You are most welcome here.. And we would improve our knowledge in parking more and more..

I wish Admin could create a sub categorie in NAme Parking thread... Just for Namedrive.. So that it would be easier for all...

Thank you......

Thanks for all the kind words! I appreciate it and I'm looking forward to getting involved. That's quite the domain you've got in your signature nielsencl, you haven't had any problems from Mr. Ham himself yet?

Cheers,
Lucas

Hah! As long as I don't slander him or post his email address I don't think he will care. After all, it IS a Keven Ham Fan Blog...!!! :-)

If he contacts me (and I hope it's not his lawyer) I would be happy to sell it and all the other KevinHam domains I own cheaply.

Ah, I see, it's supposed to be KevinHam.ws, rather than us. That threw me off a bit, but I see your picture is up on the address bar. I think I've come across the blog before. If I'm not mistaken at some point it listed all the domains that he or his companies owns. I wouldn't mind having his portfolio.

Lucas

Ooops! KevinHam.us is one I DON"T own! I guess someone was happy for that link while it lasted... Thanks for mentioning it.

I wouldn't mind have a few of the domains he has gotten rid of! All I can afford to buy are long domains infested with hyphens.

Hi Lucas, welcome to NamesLot, I just checked and I've over a hundred domains in my account at NameDrive :gasp: I guess I like ND

Few questions/feedback, maybe more suited to tech support, but the info could be useful to others I guess:

1)
I have 2 names for which the keyword box has gone red, have I been bad?
I tried to change the keywords back but now they don't change when I hit save!

2)
Is it possible to preview what will be shown for each region (not just my region) ?

3)
Is there any timeline for implementing the "undelete" feature?
(note: I don't delete domains from my account anymore, I've simply created a "bin" directory to move them to)
I'm a developer, so I'm used to road maps for products - they give resellers and end users greater confidence in a product.

4)
It's annoying that when I move domains to a folder, I am then taken to that folder. The reason I am moving the domains is because I am tidying up the folder I was originally in.

5)
Any plans to have the ability to create subfolders? I've tried to create them but it didn't seem to work, perhaps I just haven't figured out the control panel yet

6)
Are there any plans to introduce more categories?
(not sure about the US, but bingo is popular in the UK, and there's no category under gambling for it)
Or are you limited by your feed provider? If not, maybe a "suggest" category feature would be good?

7)
Have you heard about the new ecommerce templates being brought out by parkingpanel? (they actually have specific products e.t.c) Is ND considering something similar?

8)
IMHO, a keyword suggestion tool embedded within a parking system, which shows estimated click values would be a great feature ( no parking companies I'm at seem to have it )

I think that's enough! Sorry to be a pain....
Great to see a NameDrive representative on this forum, I'm a fan of your service - ND name servers are set as my defaults at my favourite registrars...

Hi RC, glad to hear you enjoy our service. We always love to hear positive feedback and suggestions and I hope you continue to work with us. Now, don't to the nitty gritty...

1) Not 100% sure on this one without looking at the account, I presume that our system deemed the keyword irrelevant with regards to the domain, thus rejecting it. You should be able to type in a new one though, which will turn yellow, then go up for keyword review, then turn green when it is approved. Not sure why it would completely lock you out of being able to change it. Again, I can't say for sure without checking out the account. If you want to PM me your name, email, or account id, I can look into it for you.

2) Yes, we have a--I think--very cool and convenient preview feature. When you are in your portfolio settings area (this is the screen in which you change your keywords, headers, etc), there is a magnifying/looking glass next to the "keyword" field. Click that and, when a new window opens, click "customize" at the very top. From there, you can now change the keyword, header, template, country view, category, et al. Then hit refresh on the right and immediately see it update. Once done, make sure you hit ok when exiting to save changes, or "cancel" to discard changes.

3) Not exactly sure when we will do this, but we've had requests for it somewhat frequently, so I hope to in the near future. It certainly would be a time-saver. We do try to adhere to customer suggestions, so I'm glad you brought this up.

4) Agreed :embarrassed: I will definitely bring that up with tech, because now that you mention it, that is a bit irritating.

5) It's not you, we currently do not have the ability to create subfolders. I just don't think there's been much demand for it. I will ask around however and see how difficult it would be to implement.

6) We're always interested in expanding regarding headers, templates, and categories. I'll make a note of the bingo selection, but let me know if you have any others.

7) Yes, they unveiled those at TRAFFIC last month, and I must admit they're pretty cool. We are definitely looking into similar ideas, we just need to do a bit more research as to how we could it most efficiently for our customers. Because it's a new concept there are still some questions to be answered. I believe PP is still using a CPC format on those pages, instead of a CPA. Which would get the customer a higher click, why? Would the reverse be a better idea, or would too few people actually buy? I expect PP will be working kinks like that out for a few months, so we just want to make sure we are 100% ready before we jump into the fray. Plus PP is an "apply and maybe we'll let you in" company and we allow everyone, so certain things affect we two companies in different ways ... so in answer to your question, yes we are considering something similar.

8) That is a good idea, although I'm not sure how Google would feel about it as their opinion on the matter is probably something like "use the best keyword, not the most valuable." I always just say that the best keyword is general enough to get a lot of ads, but specific enough that they're very targeted. If you worry that your keyword might be too specific to generate ads, try Googling it and see if any sponsored links show up, especially across the top. Not quite the same thing, but it'll give you a good idea.

No pain at all, I'm always happy to help. Glad to have you as a customer, and like I said, drop me a PM if you'd like me to look into your account. Thanks for taking the time to ask questions, I'm sure you weren't the only one wondering these things.

Cheers,
Lucas

thanks for your very detailed reply!

re: 2 - regional preview
wow, i never noticed that little grey bar at the top before!
maybe it could be expanded by default...

re: 8 - keyword suggestion
I use the adwords estimator to find good keywords, for an example of what I mean, check out the difference between "car insurance" and "car insurance quotes" - they're both equally relevant (IMHO) to a car insurance domain, but adding the "quotes" almost doubles the CPC estimate.
I just thought if it was all rolled into one site, then that site would be providing a more complete service than other parking companies
