How to make good money from article sites

Hello friends I have one article site with PR 3. My site's earning $10 to $15 par month in Google adsense.
So my question is how to make good money from article sites. Do you guys have more idea then let me know.

Thanks.

I did checked your site. I had seen it before also. It looks great but the problem is that some places are showing blank space which you could have used to paste your ads on it.

I also checked that most of your pages are showing copy content. It might not be your problem but what happens is that most of the webmasters submit their articles to more then 1 article directory to get more backlinks and traffic to their sites.

You can overcome this by writing some unique articles of your own and submitting them just to your article directory. It will atleast give you a chance to target some unique keywords from which you can fetch the search engine traffic.

The rest of the story is due to smart pricing. But I would suggest to raise the traffic bar rather then bump your heads in the adsense ebooks and all the stuff. Your alexa approximately shows you don't have that much traffic right now. So try and bring in 10 times more traffic and your earnings will be 10 times more. Which would be $150 to $200 dollars per month.

Thanks.

What is the link to your website?

I think that the general concensus is that it is prime and important to have unique content in an article-based website. You never know what people will be looking for in the search engines that only you seemed to type! I think that you can get a lot more regular viewers and contributors if you have unique content, too.

I wouldn't worry too much about PageRank or the current revenue. Focus on making your site have more content and the returns will surely follow. Hope that helps!

You might want to have your articles checked for spelling and grammar. You would not believe how many websites with high PageRank repel some traffic because of bad writing.

Would it be all right if you posted the link to your website? I might have some better suggestions for improving the articles, and, in turn, improving the revenue.

This thing goes both ways. Sometimes the spelling mistakes also bring in lots of traffic to my sites and sometimes it just ranks my pages lower in the search engines. But then I don't waste my time monitoring that a lot. In that period of time I thrive to get more and more backlinks relevant to the subject of the site and try to get more unique content in place, instead of copying the keywords or the content from other sites like mine.

Moreover if your theme is too competitive then try and integrate some unique things. Or provide really good customer service (If possible in your case) So that people would return back to your site.

EX: If you have 100 visitors and are targetting 200 visitors per day. Then going out in search for new 200 visitors is lot harder. Plus you will have to get 200 visitors everyday. So convert your existing 100 visitors as regular visitors of your site. And then you only have to worry about 100 more. OUt of which 50 or more visitors can also be turned into a returning visitor for your site.

I think Jayesh's article site is listed in his signature. If you newbies ask what that is I'm going to ask Jayesh if his tutorial site has something for those new to forums... :-)

Jayesh, if Vavk.com is the site you are talking about, it will help greatly to get those pages optimized. I'm looking at one of the article pages and the code has:
<.title>General Articles - Vavk.com<./title>

and that's for most of the pages I saw. If you just drop some page titles, description, and keywords tags in those pages and are different for each page, I think you will see a BIG difference. Right now Google shows 371 pages for your site, but all except 14 are classified as "Supplemental Results".

I would take the article title, change it to make it more interesting if you can, but still have the same meaning and use this for the title tag. Maybe add a keyword from the article.

The take 2-3 sentences from the article, generally the first paragraph sets up the purpose of the article and sometimes you have to find another one. Use that, about 250 characters, for your description. Then use the keywords from the title and description for the keywords tag, separated by commas.

Do a few pages as you have time. if you do some every day you'll have them all optimized in 4-6 months. :-) To keep up with the work, consider adding a couple fields in your submission form so your authors can add them for you! You may have to edit them, but it should be less work the doing it all.

Is it vavk.com? My User CP somehow had signatures and avatars disabled by default, but the link to this website was in the homepage section of the profile links at the bottom of the post.

I would have to agree with Nameslot and Chocokriz that unique content may be a viable solution to increasing traffic. I looked at the website and I can see a few bits of optimization that can be done to improve traffic.

You can change the title page of each article to reflect the content in the article and change the description of each article on the main page to give better keywords for the search engine indexes. I think this would be a good project to begin with in the process of optimizing the site.

Really a main key to the success for your online content based business. If you do 1 article every day it will be 365 articles in one year.

Doing nothing will result in 0 x 365 = 0 :crying:
Doing something on a smaller scale 2 x 365 = 730.
So it doesn't matters if you are fast enough and are growing rapidly or not. The slogan should be Do it no matter what.

As usual if help is needed then you know that you should not feel alone and asking for some help from someone is not going to make you feel smaller. So don't hesitate and let others know your troubles. There might be a solution out there.

Thanks.

Yes I'm talking about http://www.vavk.com I just pages optimized my site and put google ads on all in side pages which are blank. And I use 150 characters in description. Take a look and tell me what you think.

Thanks.

Its looking better now. The metas has surely improved your ads.

When I checked it earlier they were showing Public service ads. Now atleast they are showing paid ads.

The filling in of the blank space at the end of the article was also a good move. I think that after the user has finished reading the article he or she might leave your site. So the place at the end of the article was a good one.

Thanks. Please update us in somedays if the things bring in some good news in your earnings and traffic.

Thanks man I will change it right now and for titles I will have to ask for some more help from nick tomorrow. I changed today but I locked old file which is on my hard disk and upload it.

hubpages is the best site to my mind. you can try also xomba which is a great site for earning and link building.
