Power structure of websites

I have experienced many websites using popular back links for the sake of navigation. The dating sites uses the popular keywords like met a girl, get attracted or met woman etc for the purpose of navigation from one page to another page. Now this practice is not very good from the view point of designing. Usually these sorts of practices create a very bad experience among the users to use the web pages. It sometimes gets proved to be really a nuisance for the web visitors. Don't you think I am right? Is there another way to make the navigation process much more effective in terms of design also?
