Taipei will be one of the world's first cities to have its own Web domain name.The Taipei City Government announced that local businesses and residents will start using .Taipei new gTLD next year.
The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) approved the new gTLD .Taipei earlier this month.
Taipei will be this way one of the 52 cities to use their own domains,along with 中国，London,Paris,New York,Berlin and Tokyo.
Taipei Mayor,Hau Lung-bin said that, by using the new gTLD .Taipei will make the city more easily recognized in the online world.
