Approved comments are beneficial for SEO and so there are many useless commenting on the topic. I recommend approve only those which are really relevant to the topic and have some information for the visitors.

It's a very normal thing that blog admin's don't like spammy comments. As a blog admin I don't like spam comments. I just threw them in to trash folder.
A comment related to the topic just a like discussion gets approved. As a reward the contributor gets a link.
