I am a SEO enthusiast and wish to explore more about SEO. While doing the research I came across two prominent techniques of SEO i.e. White Hat SEO and Black Hat SEO. After a lot of research I managed to gather details about these two strategies and other major techniques of these SEO strategies. Though I had gathered enough information I still feel something is missing. This is what has brought me here. I am here to request the members to contribute their bit and share their knowledge about these two techniques to help me understand SEO better.

===================

White Hat SEO refers to the usage of SEO strategies, techniques and tactics that focus on a human audience opposed to search engines and completely follows search engine rules and policies.

Black Hat SEO refers to the use of aggressive SEO strategies, techniques and tactics that focus only on search engines and not a human audience, and usually does not obey search engines rules.

Black Hat SEO refers to the use of aggressive SEO strategies, techniques and tactics that focus only on search engines and not a human audience, and usually does not obey search engines rules. Some examples of Black Hat SEO techniques include keyword stuffing, invisible text and doorway pages. Black Hat SEO is more frequently used by those who are looking for a quick financial return on their Web site, rather than a long-term investment on their Web site. Black Hat SEO can possibly result in your Web site being banned from a search engine, however since the focus is usually on quick high return business models, most experts who use Black Hat SEO tactics consider being banned from search engines a somewhat irrelevant risk. Black Hat SEO may also be referred to as Unethical SEO or just spamdexing, as spamdexing is a typical frequently used Black Hat SEO practice.

White Hat SEO refers to the usage of SEO strategies, techniques and tactics that focus on a human audience opposed to search engines and completely follows search engine rules and policies. For example, a Web site that is SEO optimized, yet focuses on relevancy and organic ranking is considered to be optimized using White Hat SEO practices. Some examples of White Hat SEO techniques include using keywords and keyword analysis, backlinking, link building to improve link popularity, and writing content for human readers White Hat SEO is more frequently used by those who intend to make a long-term investment on their Web site. Also called Ethical SEO.

Black hat seo is an unethical way of seo whereas white hat seo is an ethical way of seo. If you are doing seo according to the rule of Google then it is called white hat seo otherwise black hat seo.

Hello Friends,

White Hat SEO describes the ethical practices used by web designers to optimise a website in order achieve optimal online visibility for specified keywords. White Hat SEO Techniques promote long-term results conform to Google's SEO guidelines and is regarded as being the most effective process of website promotion.

Black Hat SEO is the opposite to White Hat SEO and as such is deemed as being unethical. Black Hat SEO is considered to be an aggressive SEO tactic and as such tend to ignore fundamental search engine guidelines. Although these practices can generate quick results, they are more often than not short term. Choosing to implement Black Hat SEO techniques to increase your website's online visibility and ranking should be discouraged as your website may very well be banned from major search engines.
