Hello and thanks for any help. I was finally thinking about selling our domain name and was wondering how is the best way to "get it out there"? We stopped using the name this year but were getting about 22,000 hits with no website management at all..

Also any ida what it might be worth? I read the guide and did a little homework but am not really comfortable with the info I have found so far. We were thinking of asking $10,000 any ideas??

Hi, and welcome to the forums.

You can ask whatever you like, but from my perspective you are expecting too much. You may have had a great site with that many hits, but hits is not as valid as "visitors" or "page views". Still, that number is not too bad.

But the problem is that it seems your site has been off-line for quite some time now, so any traffic has been "drying up". I checked in Google and there were no "back links"(from other sites to yours) showing up, but Yahoo did show about 29 backlinks.

Those have value, but I think the domain name itself has a value in the range of $xx-$xxx unless you can find the right buyer that is an enduser, and not a "wholesaler" like most people on domain forums are. Someone with a business like yours may be very interested in your domain, but even then I would not expect to see this domain go for more than very low $x,xxx. Of course, I am the first to admit I could be wrong about this, so you'll want to get as many opinions as possible.

By the way, I deleted your duplicate post under domain auctions since you didn't set it up as an auction and also posted the same domain as a regular sale.

I agree. Based on domain name point of view. The logic says its $xxx.

Based on traffic. If you can find a buyer. If you can prove the source of your traffic and the revenue. I think it will be a normal deal of 18 to 24 months of revenue as the payment of the site.
