Free Add some scary music and a shot of a dirt-streaked hand breaking through the soil, and you’ve got a bona fide horror picture. Apparently, the film was even shot in the same house as Rob Zombie’s Halloween 2.
free putlocker But Timothy Green turns out to be a sweet if mysterious kid. Played by 12-year-old CJ Adams with a mix of cherubic innocence and godlike wisdom, he immediately starts calling the Greens "mom and dad.”
putlocker Family and friends show no more curiosity than if a stray cat had taken up with them.) They also keep quiet about a dozen small leaves growing on his calves. He, meanwhile, hides the fact that at strategic plot points, one of the leaves falls off. It’s like a slow-moving version of Eddie Murphy’s A Thousand Words.
Timothy — his name is a Biblical one meaning "to honour God,” but it’s also a type of long grass, which seems appropriate — sprouts from the fertile soil of fictional Stanleyville, "the pencil capital of the world.” I always thought the Czech Republic held that title, but whatever. The one-company town is falling on hard times. Jim’s boss at the pencil factory is the Dickensianly named Franklin Crudstaff (Ron Livingston). His mother (Dianne Wiest, wasted) is Bernice Crudstaff, one of the many town curmudgeons whom Timothy will help see the light.
Jim is played by Joel Edgerton, who coincidentally worked for a down-at-the-heels shoe company in 2005’s Kinky Boots. Cindy is played by Jennifer Garner; between a role as an adoptive mother in Juno and her own three children with Ben Affleck, she has affected a more-or-less constant maternal glow. The Greens are not the most relaxed parents, but then again, most parents have a few years to get used to their job before worrying about school bullies and potential girlfriends.
free They’re thrust into the tug-of-war that is parental expectation. Jim calls out as Timothy heads off to his first crack at school. "I can only get better!” he chirps, and commits to his job as water boy/team mascot.
Streaming The movie has an odd framing structure. Jim and Cindy are telling their story in flashback to a bored and disbelieving official (Shohreh Aghdashloo) at a state adoption agency, so it’s clear that whatever adventures they’ve had with Timothy, he’s no longer with them. What’s less clear is why Hedges had to crank up the weirdness so high.
