hi guys,
just read about this forum being adrevenue sharing and just thought of giving my google publisher id in my profile, but wanted to ask you guys how many of you have done so, and have u ever been banned by google for doing it and if you have done it, how much have you made from it??

Thanks for answering!!

Here is some more info on ads revenue sharing http://www.nameslot.com/misc.php?action=help&hid=8

Moreover it is explained here if google will ban you for it or not: http://www.nameslot.com/misc.php?action=help&hid=10

I cannot disclose my own earning from the board. But the normal earning for one of my friend who is a member here on this forum was just $2 in 10 days.

I know it is very little. But then he didn't started many threads and haven't posted much. The revenue sharing algo of our forum is below:

By default 50% of the ads comes from board owner. That is me, myself
Other 25% of ads are displayed who starts the new thread. If you start new threads then 1 out of every 4 times your ads are displayed on it.

And remaining 25% of the ads are displayed randomly from the users who replies to that particular topic. This is for posts that are in that threads. If there are 4 posts then the chances of your ads being displayed are 25% of 25% of the traffic that the particular thread recieves.

Now let me show you how to get more ads displayed. You can choose relevant topics for domain names and start new threads in their respective sections. This gives you a clean shot at 25% of the thread traffic from our forum and even from the search engines which will crawl the thread and display it as search results. On an average most of the older threads have 1000 views. So 250 times your ads are displayed and even if at 0.5% Click through ratio the ads have been clicked by the visitors landing on that page then you get 2 clicks on it. Generating around a dollar or so and maybe more in some cases depending on the keywords.

So isn't a dollar in adsense a good income for starting one thread?

hi...
that sounds good enough!!
But, so where can i find this textbox to add my adsense publishers id....
i tried to find it out in the profiles page...but couldnt find it....
please help!!

Thanks in adv.

This is very useful information.

I plan on adding my AdSense information to my profile. I think that the concept is very good and beneficial to all of our users.

Actually, it would be a very good start for me to use AdSense here, but I don't have my first project up and running and do not have an AdSense account. How does a user decide which AdSense account to use for the profile, though? Do they randomly select, or is there a specific type of account - Individual account, as opposed to Business - that one is supposed to use? I am not familiar with the affiliation of AdSense, so I am not sure whether most users just have one AdSense account for all of their projects or if they register a different AdSense account to each project.

I think most people just have one Adsense account.

If you don't have one, I have heard that an easy way to get one is to sign up at blogger.com (owned by google)

Thank you for the information, RCRiver.

Would it be a good idea to get AdSense by blogger.com or some other means to prepare for my upcoming projects?

i would suggest that you create a proper website and then host in on proper servers and then apply for adsense account, because it isnt like before. They have got stricter when it comes to approving adsense accounts.
I mean if u are rejected then it is only after the 7 or 8th time that u will be approved!!
Thats what happened to me!!

I think both the blogger.com and the personal website are good enough. But if you are going with anyone one thing is for sure. Get some content in before even applying for the account. They want to see good content and hard work in it. If your blog has 5 to 10 posts then it will get accepted in it. From the blogger blog.

Plus if you are going to make a private website then that would be real nice. But here also please do watch out for the content issue. Plus I think if you are new then don't hesitate to ask for a review in our reviews section right here on Nameslot Forum and ask others to check it out before applying so that you do not have to see a rejection letter from google.

Thanks.

Thank you for the advice, Nameslot.

I will be trying to figure out what the subject of my blog will be. I did not anticipate starting out like this, so I'm a little unsure of what to for a subject or topic!

I should probably research the concept of blog a little more. I understand how to write content marvelously, but I am a little wary when it comes to things like search engine optimization and the various keywords that you want the search engines to pick up on. I will be looking in the forums for different resources, but does anyone have anything that might be useful to put forward for a first starter?

Oh wow, I didn't know about the whole blog thing. I really really love to cook, infact I'm going to a culinary college. Maybe I should make a blog with my recipes in it with pictures, and even put videos on it :O

That sounds like a great idea, Chocokriz. Have you read up about search engine optimization and keywords?

There are a lot of resources on the forum that might be useful to us - since you haven't done a project yet, either, right? Keep a lookout for any articles that might good for first time starters like us.

Nope, I haven't done a project yet but I'm pretty eager to. But of course, I need to learn a lot more. hehe. I'm most concerned with how to get traffic from the search engines. Should I word my writing in a way that would attract viewers or is there some software that I put up on the blog or something?

hi chocokriz,
a piece of advice for you!!

Dont start a blog on a subject which is demand or for which you have maximum adverts or the keywords which are more in demand these days on the internet, coz if u dont have interest in these topics then eventually your content will get exhausted and you will have to copy stuff from other websites!

Instead i suggest write a blog on the topic which really interests you and who can write truckloads on it; coz that will mean you will write more and you will get more money, which eventually means that you will earn more.

And if you are concerned about advertisements, belive me google has got ads for just about everything under the sun!!

Thanks,
Cheers!

Absolutely right on the point.

Chocokriz, You are really lucky one that you don't have a website on which you would be working again and again. You are getting great webmaster lessons and if you really have some time then you should check out the Tips and Techniques Section it has loads of articles on how to choose a good domain name. How to set up your website and then how to market it properly.

When I was at your stage there was nothing like this and I was just wondering this and that.

Think for hours and hours before starting a content based website. Choose some topics, write them on paper and then think on all of them. Cancel some of them and in end you will have the theme and topic for your new site. It would be a good idea to think for 12 hours rather then spending your time for the rest of your webmastering days wondering what to write and how to write on that topic.

You might want to consider whether you would like to use Blogger or a different type of blog software.

well....i would recommend wordpress...its working fine with me and comes free with your hosting package and to top it all it is highly customizable!

Wow, thank you so much for that advice guys. I really really appreciate it.. But you don't understand, I love it so much, I can do it 24/7 =D But I won't dive in head first. Even the things that people love SO much, they can even get exhausted from. I'll be careful :O

Hmm okay, thanks <3 So I guess it DOES have its own software sort of thing. Sounds sorta like Livejournal in a way.
