IMHO, the imminent introduction of several new generic top-level domains means that, with the exception of .com domains, in the next future all the TLDs will lose their value because it will be spread between all the new TLDs that are coming out.
But I think that the .com domains and all the domain hacks will increase their value since it will be a lot easier for them to be branded by new companies and remembered by people.

Regarding domain hacks, recently we have seen big sells:
Secure.it sold for $8,351 in Sedo, August 2009
Recycle.it sold for $6,712 in Bido, May 2009
And also:

Insure.Me $68,000
Love.Me $32,500

It's hard to say. The problem is that Recycle has over 4000000 monthly searches and Secure has 7480000 where Appraise only has 74000. That is a sharp difference. Just based on percentage alone you are looking at $100-$200 but I think it would go for a lot more just because of it being a one word domain. Appraiser.it or Appraisal.it would likely sell for a lot more based on search volume.

I could use assistance in figuring out that extra $10/month. I know it seems pretty tiny but I budget myself pretty tight and those small things add up quickly for me.I think I could keep a few going at a time, especially since this page is just a propoganda site that doesn't require any work from my side (you know, once it's up, it's up)... but I don't want to build up my hosting fees.
