hi,
if for the content of my website, i pickup articles from any of the article websites then is it good or bad from SEO point of view?

Or will those pages be put into supplemental result?
Please suggest!

It is advisable that not to use those content for your websites as those content is already crawled by search engines.so when you put that content on your site it will be considered as a duplicate content.
and you pages will be go in to supplemental result.

Yes sadly the copied content is of no use. Don't even use content spinners.

If you want then just build up your content slowly. But make it 100% custom and unique. If the content based site is on a subject that you are familiar with then this will not be a problem for you. Moreover I have seen many article writers who never publish their articles online, maybe because they are shy someone would laugh at their article. It's not like that. Every lion who becomes the king of the jungle was a cub someday. So just start it off try small paragraphs first and then your technique will get polished by itself.

No one was born as an author. Who knows there might be really good writing talent in you also. But you will never know without giving it a try.

Don't "supplemental results" still get some traffic? They are in the index after all...

Also, has anyone tried using articles, but creating different title and description tags for the pages? I am doing this for press releases and it works quite well.

yea...thats what i am thinking....
plus how about i read a few articles on a topic and then write the article in my own words...
is this technique fine??

Sure, I would just sugget that you do some keyword research first. That way you will have a list of scored keyword phrases that people are using to search with. I use the program from www.GoodKeywords.com.

You can also take content and change it around so it is pretty different from the original. Changing things and adding a lot of keyword phrases can really work well. The one rule is that what you write should still be good English (or proper for your language).
