Besides content rewrite what else can be done fight duplicity issue?

There are true, near and cross domain duplicates for website content and there are many ways to deal with them. Though I always recommend changing the entire content on the page, I would like to know if there is any less tedious method to fight content duplicity. Besides content rewrite what else can be done fight duplicity issue?

Try to write unique content before you submit in search engine and upload on site check through duplicate content tool.
