Blocking cheap sites in AdSense

I heard about the idea of blocking sites in your adsense account that were like MFA sites or these cheap directory sites full of ads or just paid listings.

These people bid as little as possible in Adwords for keywords to get people to come to their site and click on their ads. They pay as little as possible because they need to make more on the ads that pay them.

The idea was that if you block these sites, you will have more ads from sites that have higher bids (Bid cost is not the only thing that determines if the ads are shown) and make more money.

Well I tried it for a few weeks, and yesterday I decided to stop blocking the sites. My Adsense shot up about 100% and is now back to where it was before I started doing this. I though the lower income was from something else.

Nice idea, but for my sites it did not work.

We were hit by this kind of ads recently.

I made a huge list andd blocked most of them

The thing was that there were even ads from the domain which were not even registered. So I doubted that someone is trying to slap us really hard.

Filtered them out and within 24 hours those ads have stopped showing on our forums.

For your sites also it will work. But it takes around 12 to 24 hours to get the things moving.

I think you misunderstand.

I had blocked about 20-30 sites a couple of weeks ago and the ads stopped showing.

The problem is that my income dropped by about 50%.

I removed the sites and now it's back where it was.

Maybe it won't happen to you...?

Humm..... here its an opposite scenario.

When I blocked the sites the earnings increased.

Makes things even more confusing when this kind of things happen. But if your earnings have increased then it is all well and good :)

After all we did it to raise the profits from the adsense.

Yes, it is not what I expected. There was a site that I found and now have lost that was all about this topic, so I only expected positive results.

My site related to domain parking was getting ads on car parking services. I had to block these ads and saw an increase in CTR. In my case, it surely helped blocking irrelevant ads.

Well man I tested it all.

Blocked the ads and to my surprise the earnings dropped. The reason for blocking the ads was to get more revenue. But when I unblocked the ads the earning is rising again.

Nielsencl you were right on this one. It is not helping in any way but on the contrary it is ruining the earnings.
