HTML stands for hypertext markup language and it has entered into the internet field in the year 1990. Since its invention, many of its versions have been developed and all of them have some different features from each other. It is used for website designing and webmasters have been highly benefitted by HTML. HTML is a W3C Recommendation and it has been a rough guide to many core features. The same has occurred with XHTML. It actually defines the series of XML for HTML 4 and DOM Level 2 HTML; it can efficiently define JavaScript APIs both for HTML and XHTML.

Nice description. But i would like to know the basic difference between HTML4 and HTML5. How do they differ in features?

It’s going to be a while before HTML5 is the new standard and everything HTML5 has to offer is supported by all the important browsers. If I am a web developer, what should I do?

One of the most obvious difference between HTML 4 and 5 is to determine the type of information contained within a page move. An HTML4 page usually contains a frequently use the id or class attributes a large collection of determine <div> elements.

HTML5 provides the like <article> allowed to use the generic label identifies the contents of standard elements. This allows for a header, footer, articles, and part of the net asset value typical web pages in different sites have the same specification.

Great information here. Now i search this kind of information and got good and meaningful content here. Thank you very much to provide information.

1.HTML4 supports the ‘tag soup’ i.e. the ability to inscribe malformed code and get them accurately on the document. But there are no written rules or guidelines for doing this. This implies that malformed documents are to be tested on various browsers.
2.To tackle this issue, HTML5 is being developed in such a way so that the developers need not waste their time and efforts in creating an error free web page.
3.Unlike its predecessor, HTML5 also includes many new tags and also new names for older tags with extra features like: local storage wherein a lot of information can be stored, JS-based hacks or Flash, validation form etc. so as to make the applications easy for the developers and speedier for the users.

Every version has some new features compared to the older version. In case of HTML 4 and HTML 5 are both different versions of HTML. HTML 5 is the latest version and it has many features such as multimedia, drag and drop, video playback, APIs, etc. Many tags are removed in HTML 5 which was never used in the previous version HTML 4. Some new features are added in HTML 5 such as Canvas Element, Forum element and Article element. HTML 5 can easily develop an error free web page with minimal time and efforts.

World Wide Web Consortium's (W3C) HTML 5 is the wave of the future even though it is still a work in progress. It is designed to replace the HTML 4.01 standard although HTML 5 is backwards compatible. HTML 4 and its earlier incarnations were extended using JavaScript and a host of plugins including Adobe's Flash to provide interactive and multimedia presentations. HTML 5 specification is designed to bring all of that functionality into a single, unified platform.

Thanks for sharing such a vital information, actually I am looking for information regarding. Now this thread definitely help me a lot....
