Ok, I would wait about 3 months after you submit and if you are not listed, then I would contact the editor or post a message on the DMOZ forums. You can ask questions about the status of your submissions and also why it was not listed. Most editors will let you know so you can make changes.
IMPORTANT: Add a "Thank you!" to your submssion in the description when you submit. And when you post a message or contact them, BE SUPER NICE, FRIENDLY, and RESPECTFUL. You need to let them know you appreciate the work they do for FREE.
Even if they are jerks, you must still be nice as you can to them. It only takes a second to reject a submission and they are over worked with people submitting junk and being angry with them.
Now, it might help everyone to take a look at vavk.com and see if anything looks like it might cause the editor to reject the site?
Here is what I saw in a quick look:
Contact page: No contact information, just a contact form. Why are you hiding? What are you hiding? Make sure your site has full contact information, and I recommend having it on every page. Most professional sites do this.
Submit page: If you are going to have a page, it should have some content on it. This will also help with search engines. I would put some paragraphs that describe the submission process and details about what you are looking for and also the benefits of submitting.
Categories: It's a loong list and not sorted. You could call this your sitemap. I looked at your site map and it's not a sitemap for people... I don't think you need a link for an xml sitemap...?
Newsletter: No content. It's coming.... when? 2050? Pages without content means your site is not finish. Don't add pages that don't have content.
The other thing that I noticed that does not affect DMOZ is that your site should have some basic optimization. Most of the page title tags are the same. Changing these will really help your site alot!
