Do quality work instead of quantity.. the question about how much linking is not acceptable.. create 1 quality link (good pr) instead of creating 50 useless links. (irrelevant or low 0 pr links).. This is what google expect from site owners.

ACTUALLY ITS DEPEND ON YOUR AGE OF SITE DOMAIN NAME.IF DOMAIN NAME IS NEW THEN NUMBER OF LINKS TO PAGE OR SITE SHOULD BE MINIMUM AND IF SITE DOMAIN NAME AGE IS OLDER ENOUGH THEN MAXIMUM NUMBER OF LINKS IS PREFERRED TO IT
