Keep oil boiler losing as fresh as possible, and fresh them thoroughly at least once a year. The dirt and dirt can develop up on the real losing, resulting in a far less effective losing pattern. Eventually, the losing will use more and more oil to generate the same amount of warm, until so much substance builds up that the furnace will not mild and get rid of at all.
