How to register domains?

I wanted to start one site and my friend told me that I will need a domain name to get my site online. Can anyone tell me how can I register a doamin name for my site and from where can I do this?

There are so many domain registrar from where u can register any domain.here is some of them
godaddy.com
namecheap.com

first of all visit those sites and create your account there. for payment option namecheap will allow non verified paypal account but godaddy will accept payment only from verified paypal account.

just go through sites and let us know if u find any problem.

Go to some doamin registrar as Jigensh stated above.

Check for the domain name in the boxes given there for availibility checks. When you find one that is available pay for it with credit card or paypal if they allow paypal payments.

Its done.
