In the beginning, god created the .com and it was good. Trying to improve upon this, he created .net, .org, and all the other TLDs in their time. While most TLDs were bestowed to the peoples of different lands, cultures, races, and personal grooming habits; only the .com belongs to all and is the center from which all ecommerce springs.
Like those that turn away from lesser gods, so too do the pious shun the non-.com domains as being "imperfect"(.biz) or "unclean" (.info). Some TLDs are stillborn (.coop) as they should be. He is still at work and .mobi is one of his latest creations. But the domain that was supposed to honor the whaling industry has been soiled by those jealous of the success of .com and so Mobi Dick has been forgotten in favor of Mobile Devices, another false god...
Some say the perfection of the .com may someday be challenged and thrown down when the world is given the freedom to select any name they choose for an Internet address, without restriction to length, punctuation, language, or even correct spelling. Only then will the .com fade into the past as the first great step to total net oneness.
