ICANN published new Universal Acceptance guidelines this week.

Back when new gTLDs launched, longer endings like .photography or .technology could be rejected by older systems, while .COM rarely had that problem.

In 2026, does that compatibility gap still exist in practice, or has it mostly disappeared?
