"Japan Blog" would be great I think. It sounds like you may have some knowledge of that subject...?

I would set up a hosting account and then put a Blogger Blog on it. You can post be email and send news items to it if you don't feel like writing posts all the time.

Nice idea. I did used this idea sometime ago and would have to say that it was really helpful rather then logging in and then writing the post. HTML emails are also being published with formatting intact in it.

Nice domain name, good search result for "J Blog" in Google. As Nielsencl say you can start "Japan Blog". It's nice idea and here are some other topic you can start on this domain name. You can start "Journalist" related blog or "Journal" blog for example you can start "Biophysical Journal" or "Journal of Neurophysiology".
