Our exisiting website ranks well for around 100 keyword phrases. We have developed strong keyword rich content and also additional pages hosted on the same site targeting the same keyword phrase to pass link juice to the primary 'selling' pages. We are reaching a point of saturation having the maximum of two google top 10 results for many of these keyword phrases, however we want to push these pages further up google page one, we already have a mature link profile into these pages (and continue to develop this) but are considering a new direction to increase our penetration into these keyword markets.
We are considering buying around 100 new keyword rich urls. The purpose of this is that, hopefully, the keyword in URL will give it sufficient authority to make it a page 1 search result, this will give it direct traffic and drive sales in itself but secondly we can use this page to make highly authorative contextual anchor text links into our primary website. My questions surround the type of keyword rich url's to buy.
In our product/market many of the keyword rich URLs are gone - for example, the URL www.metalfastener.com.au is taken already. With .com.au being the most authorative url extension (is that the right terminology?) in our local Australian market would I be better off buying a url like www.metalfastener1.com.au or a less authorative but more keyword rich URL like www.metalfastener.org.au ?
