Managing a complicated client

Well, am not here to discuss about my knowledge about SEO management and how it helps in managing the site. My client was very understanding initially, but now he wants me to use illegal ways of site promotion. Thus, the problem cropped up. I can’t apply unethical ways in the site. But, he is an old client and I do not want to disappoint him, but can’t carry on like this. Though, I should tell him about his unethical demands. I want to know, if there is anyone who can help me in tackling the situation. Please give your opinion. Thanking you in anticipation.
