Optimize For Home Page Or Category Level Pages ?

Hi there,

I have 2 SEO questions.

I'm redesigning my whole site [removed] (2 years old and first
attempt at Joomla) right now using another Joomla template.
Now I have most of my SEO keywords used in the title, h<x> tags, and
text content on the home page. Each category of items for sale also
has a category page (see Magic Skirt) or new site, see EcoGirl that
also has the same keywords in title, h<x> tags, and text content, etc.

Q1. For the redesign, should I continue to optimize for the home page
first since it's the root file of the site or should I concentrate my
keywords and SEO push on the category pages (like the Magic Skirt page
for instance) ?

Q2. What about the 2 cases of entirely new sites (EcoGirl and
HatAGirl) that I want to link from my home page for Jedzebel ? We
produce all 3 lines but are older and more established as Jedzebel.
