Alexa stats are interesting, but they only come from people that have the Alexa toolbar installed, so they are not very accurate.

The secret is: Get more visitor traffic from those that have the Alexa toolbar!

What is Alexa rank all about? What is it based on and how do you find out?

The Alexa.com rank is based on how much traffic a web site gets which is monitored when people use the Alexa toolbar. If you use the toolbar Alexa can see every web site and page you visit.

They take this information and figure out how popular a site is and give it a ranking. In their system, a smaller numer is better than a larger number. For example, if your site was rated as 544,887, that would me that 544,886 sites get more traffic than yours and all the rest get less. To Alexa you don't really count unless you are in the top 10,000 sites.
