Transferring domain and pagerank

I am thinking to transfer one of my domain name from my hosting company domain registration service to godaddy. Will it affect my pagerank. The domain name is PR 5 right now and it took me 1.5 years to get that. So I don't want to lose the pagerank for it. Please let me know I want to transfer the domain name because my hosting company charges $24.99 for renewal and I have heard that godaddy is cheap and good registrar and the renewal will be $7.95 over there. Please help newbie in domain transferring here.

No it won't lose the PR. You can just transfer the domain name and keep the site live.
The PR is based on the backlinks for that site. So the backlinks are not going to move anywhere if you are transferring the domain from one place to another.

If you are planning to switch host i would suggest you see where your new host is located ( i mean their servers are located ) This affect Ranking and SERP.
If you are targeting UK traffic and your host server is located in US then it will affect your ranking and thus traffic.....

Switching Host does not affect PR in anyway.
