Display an image for "x" amount of seconds and then go to a specified page.Splash pages are used to promote a company, service or product or are used to inform the user of what kind of software or browser is necessary in order to view the rest of the site's pages.

. Another confusing term though this time it is two terms which mean about the same thing. Splash pages and splash screens are used to describe an introduction page on a website. That’s it!! Not so hard is it? Splash screen do the same thing but sometimes they won’t cover the entire screen or page. They often have animations, graphics and sound. It is more common to hear them called pop-up’s since this is what they do. You will be reading the page and bam! out of nowhere comes this guys face or voice making you some amazing offer. Studies indicate the opt-in rates are high but I think they are very annoying.
